National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

To acknowledge the disproportionate impact of the epidemic on homosexual men, the National Association of People with AIDS established National homosexual Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day in 2008.

Given that homosexual and bisexual men frequently experience a number of obstacles, including racism, homophobia, discrimination, and stigma, which may increase their risk of contracting HIV, the observance provides a chance to improve awareness about ending HIV stigma and promoting HIV testing, prevention, and treatment.

International Pronouns Day

International Pronouns Day

“International Pronouns Day seeks to make respecting, sharing, and educating about personal pronouns commonplace. Referring to people by the pronouns they determine for themselves is basic to human dignity. Being referred to by the wrong pronouns particularly affects transgender and gender nonconforming people. Together, we can transform society to celebrate people’s multiple, intersecting identities.”

Fargo Moorhead Gay Men’s Chorus Presents: “Together We Rise!”

The Spring concert of The Fargo-Moorhead Gay Men's Chorus, themed "Together We Rise," celebrates unity, resilience, and the power of community. It brings together voices to raise awareness and advocate for equality, love, and acceptance, drawing inspiration from the strength of collective action.
Through a carefully curated selection of songs, the chorus showcases a journey of triumph over adversity, with music that speaks to both personal and shared experiences. The concert's theme, "Together We Rise," emphasizes the importance of standing together as individuals, as a community, and as part of the broader LGBTQ+ movement.
With a mix of powerful ballads, upbeat anthems, and heartfelt performances, the concert highlights the importance of solidarity, inclusion, and the courage to be unapologetically oneself. Whether through emotional, introspective pieces or high-energy songs that inspire hope and joy, this performance aims to uplift and inspire all who attend, reminding the audience that together, we can overcome challenges and rise above them.
The event will be a memorable evening filled with harmony, strength, and the shared belief that love and understanding are forces that can help us rise above all obstacles. It is a celebration of pride, joy, and the unbreakable bonds that connect us all. We will be featuring multiple pieces composed by their very own Jared Hoeft, including one brand new piece he recently composed specifically for our Chorus.
Following the concert, join the community for a free will dinner to help support the Chorus.

Tickets are $15 at the door, concert to be held at First Congregational UCC Moorhead.

Day of (NO) Silence
Apr

Day of (NO) Silence

History of Day of (No) Silence: Started in the mid 90’s by two college students, Day of Silence was a nationally-recognized demonstration where LGBTQ+ students and allies all around the country protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ+ people in schools. Every April, students would go through the school day without speaking, ending the day with Breaking the Silence rallies to bring attention to ways their schools and communities can become more inclusive.

2025 Day of (No) Silence: In 2024, GLSEN made the switch to Day of (NO) Silence, in opposition to the current attempted erasure of LGBTQ+ people, especially transgender and nonbinary people, from public life. Being silent is no longer an option. We must use our voices throughout the week leading up to Day of (No) Silence on April 4th.
